Gerald Anderson defines sexy
At age 28, actor Gerald Anderson now has a new definition of the word “sexy.”
“I’m now attracted to someone who is independent, motivated and who lives her life with a purpose—that is sexy for me. More than the face, I prefer to be with someone who knows what she wants in life and works on getting it,” he told reporters during a media gathering for his drama series “Ikaw Lamang ang Iibigin,” which will end its eight-month run in ABS-CBN on Friday.
“I admit that when I was younger, I’d chase girls who were fair-skinned and pretty. Now, I know that looks fade; and when you’re already together, these traits no longer become your basis to carry on with the relationship,” he pointed out.
For over a year now, Gerald has been dating fellow Kapamilya actor Bea Alonzo, whom he last worked with in July 2016 in the Dan Villegas romantic-comedy film “How to Be Yours.” However, the two actors refuse to put a “label” on their romance.
“It’s not that we want to hide what’s going on between us. You see, I’ve been in this business since I was 17, and I feel like I’ve already given so much of myself to it. I’m not complaining, though. I know that part of my being a celebrity is that I have to share portions of myself to the public. It comes with the territory,” Gerald pointed out. “But I’m also human, and I also feel that I need to keep certain things about myself private.”

If I keep talking about my private relationships, that would always be the focus of interviews and not the project’s merits. Let’s just say all was good for me in 2017 and that my 2018 started in a positive way.”

Gerald is a product of the first season of the “Teen Edition” of the reality show “PBB,” where he finished third place. His onscreen partner and ex-girlfriend Kim Chiu was the grand winner.
“People have been asking me the same question since I was 22. Of course, I’m not the same person anymore. I’ve matured so much and am already of age,” the actor stressed, “but I’ll know it’s time for me to settle down when I feel it.”
Gerald and Kim had admitted to not being in good terms after they broke up seven years ago, but in “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin,” the two got to work closely again. “The project has proven that, despite what happened to us in the past, we are both passionate about our work as actors. We are professionals when we’re on the set. I can say that we’re in a better situation now than before.”
Gerald is now busy working on another romantic-comedy film, this time with 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, titled “My Perfect You.” Later this year, he said he would be starring in a new Kapamilya soap about the struggles of the members of the Armed Forces.
