So, who among you here heard that buzz about an extremely irate Brunei-based Filipina airing her rage against Pia Wurtzbach, over incidents that allegedly occurred during the beauty queen’s recent visit to Brunei?

Yes, queen Pia was reportedly with boyfriend car racer Marlon Stockinger and his family. Yes, the Brunei-based Filipina was allegedly so distressed she ranted all over Instagram, supposedly in defense of a Hermes bag she gave Pia (it’s not fake, she said). Yes, all the while, Pia kept mum.

It looks like the steam from what could have been another word war about ‘fake’ stuff (recently, there was that Marian vs. Heart ish, over ‘fake’ Dolce & Gabbana), among other things, has finally settled, as both camps have declared peace.

The Filipina, Kathelyn Dupaya, slammed Wurtzbach last week over what Dupaya refers to as statements made by the former Miss Universe, relayed to Dupaya by sources. Dupaya claims that the alleged statements are against her and puts in a bad light Wurtzbach’s trip to Brunei.

But just over a few hours ago, Dupaya put the fire out and finally made peace with the former Miss Universe. In her recent Instagram post, she shared that she has discussed with Wurtzbach’s manager, Jonas Gaffud, and agreed with him that the chaos was a clear case of “misunderstanding.”

Dupaya then apologized for her “below the belt” statements and expressed that both she and Pia were simply hurt by the whole thing.

Also, Gaffud, through his Facebook account, released a clarificatory message addressing the issue. The beauty queen-maker acknowledged Dupaya’s “[apology] for what she has done” to Wurtzbach.

Gaffud stated that “what happened was [a case of] misunderstanding as she [Dupaya] never heard Pia talk bad about anything.” He added: “Pia is thankful for the hospitality that Kathy provided during her private vacation in Brunei.”

Dupaya, who is reportedly a businesswoman, mentioned in her past Instagram posts that she has been bringing in celebrities from the Philippines to Brunei. Some of the posts picture her with other beauty queens such as Megan Young and Kylie Versoza, and actresses Sunshine Cruz and Ara Mina.

Gaffud himself, despite answering the issue on Dupaya’s earlier irate words against Wurtzbach, has told Inquirer.net that he is not well-informed about the Brunei-based Filipina. In an exclusive chat with Inquirer.net, Gaffud could not provide the full details about Dupaya or her businesses, “I don’t know, eh.”

Dupaya’s first grievance against Wurtzbach concerned a Hermes bag she said she gave the beauty queen, but was allegedly described by the beauty queen as “fake.”

(The bag that I gave you is not fake. It’s not like your fake face. If you want, we can go to Paris, I’ll pay for your airfare and hotel, just so I can prove to you that the bag is not fake.)

In another point, Dupaya accused the beauty queen of allegedly warning people coming to Brunei to be wary of Dupaya. She stressed she had long been bringing Filipino celebrities to Brunei, and there was never any untoward incident that happened. Furthermore, Dupaya and her staff claim they have not done anything wrong to merit the alleged bad feedback from Wurtzbach.

(Don’t you give people going to Brunei warnings against me. First, we did not show you anything bad. The service we gave you was different from what we gave other celebrities.)

Dupaya also denied Wurtzbach’s alleged statement that Wurtzbach and her group shelled out money during their stay in Brunei. Dupaya claims she took care of all the expenses.

Reportedly owning a newly-opened spa, Dupaya accused Wurtzbach that the beauty queen denied they spoke, during Wurtzbach’s alleged appearance at the spa opening.

Sabe mo wala tayo usapan sa spa, alam ni Atty Py bakit ko kayo ininvite, una soft opening ng spa ko, pangalawa gusto mo mag-relax dahil pagod ka, tapos sasabihin mo wala tayo usapan…

(You said we did not talk at the spa. Atty. Py knows why I invited you. First, because it’s the soft opening of my spa. Second, you wanted to relax because you were tired. Then here you are saying we did not talk?)
