Sia honors Orlando shooting victims in new music video

Its been three months since the tragedy that claimed 49 lives from the LGBT community inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando, but Australian singer Sia is making sure they are not forgotten.

The 40-year-old artist paid tribute to the victims of the gruesome massacre through a new music video for her single entitled “The Greatest.”

The “Chandelier” singer, who did not appear in the video, teamed up with 13-year-old Maddie Ziegler, who has now appeared as her conduit in four different songs.

The six-minute haunting and emotional tribute starts with Ziegler painting a rainbow on her face and encouraging 49 children—representing those who lost their lives while dancing at the club—to break free from a prison cell.

Soon after, the children show off their impressive dance moves along with a few unforgettable facial expressions. Ziegler is also seen swapping her signature blond hair for a black wig to set a powerful mood.

Despite the brief jolt of energy and happiness, the video comes to an emotional end as a wall is seen riddled with bullet holes, prompting everyone to fall to the ground.

In the aftermath, Ziegler is seen in tears, smearing the rainbow colors on her cheeks.

The emotional video was directed by Sia herself, alongside Daniel Askill and Ryan Huffington, who also choreographed the dancers’ moves.

The song, which also features Grammy-Award winning rapper Kendrick Lamar,  is part of Sia’s upcoming studio album “We Are Your Children.”  Khristian Ibarrola
