RACHELLE Ann Go: Walt Disney Studios Southeast Asia wanted “someone special” and picked her

Rachelle Ann Go meets the press on Wednesday, March 11, in a roundtable discussion of her award-winning stint in the West End revival of “Miss Saigon” and, more recently, being chosen by Walt Disney Studios Southeast Asia to sing and star in a music video of “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” from “Cinderella.”

The music video was made to coincide with the launch of the new live-action version of the 1950 animated film. The song on which it is based was written and composed by Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston.

Said Amit Malhotra, Walt Disney SEA general manager, “Rachelle Ann Go embodies the positivity of the character Cinderella, and is a living idol for young Filipinos everywhere.”

The music video premiered on Disney Channel and Disney Channel Asia’s YouTube channel last Saturday.

Rachelle’s role in last year’s West End revival of the musical “Miss Saigon” fetched for her the 2014 best featured actress trophy from Broadway World West End Awards and best supporting actress from the 2015 WhatsOnStage Awards, also in London.

“Cinderella” opens in cinemas nationwide on March 12.
