Angelica Panganiban on causing John Lloyd-Shaina split: ‘I prevailed!’

MANILA, Philippines—Actress Angelica Panganiban said that she might have caused the break-up of John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao in 2012.
In an interview on “Gandang Gabi Vice” which aired on Sunday, Panganiban shared that prior to her relationship with Cruz, she used to help her best friend John Prats move on from his split with Magdayao.
She said that they used to bash Cruz and Magdayao.
“Para maka-move on siya (Prats), sabi ko, ‘Ano ka ba, kaya mo ‘yan! Isipin mo di sila bagay, maghihiwalay din sila!’ Ako pala ‘yung magiging dahilan,” Panganiban told Vice Ganda.
The comedian then asked Panganiban if she thinks she was the reason why Cruz and Magdayao broke up, to which the actress said: “Feeling ko!”
Panganiban added: “Sabi ko, in fairness ‘no, si Shaina, ano kaya nararamdaman? Best friend ko, tapos dyowa niya dati. Ako ang nagwagi.”
Meanwhile, hours after the episode aired, Magdayao posted a quote on her Instagram account which was interpreted by netizens as a reaction to Panganiban’s revelation.
The quote read: “Those who tried to break you are expecting you to be in fight mode. Conquer them with your peace.”
Cruz and Magdayao split in May 2012 after a two-year relationship. Cruz admitted his relationship with Angelica in October of the same year. AJH
