Fat, happy heart

ANDI Eigenmann will teach daughter to be strong, realistic.

When a book becomes a sensation, it’s too good just to remain on print. The words jump out of the pages and come to life on the silver screen—just like Bob Ong’s bestseller “ABNKKBSNPLAko?!” which is now a movie.

The adaptation, opening tomorrow, is a lighthearted coming-of-age/drama-comedy that follows the journey of a group of close friends from childhood to puberty all the way to adulthood.

This page-turner is bound to be a blockbuster. It’s topbilled by Jericho Rosales, who portrays a mild-mannered but insecure school teacher. Andi Eigenmann plays his love interest. Andi has stepped out of the shadows of her parents, Mark Gil and Jacyln Jose, who are both legendary actors.

FEATURED STORIES

Motherhood has made her bloom all the more.

Here’s my tête-à-tête with Andi, the “EIGEN  child-woMANn.”

Since your movie tackles school life, tell us what you were like as a student?

When I was in high school, I was pretty busy with sports. My life revolved around it and the pressure of doing something to provide for myself. So as much as I loved to study and cooperate in every academic activity, it was also about a balance of surviving the real world as well. I wanted to learn how to be independent because I was raised that way.

Did you pull pranks in school?

I was not much of a prankster back then, but I did get into a lot of arguments with my teachers every time I would recite. It was because I always wanted to be right especially in Religion.

What’s your most memorable moment with Jericho during your shoot?

It was when he told me about his life and struggles when he was in high school. I was awed by his stories and he gained a fan in me.

When your daughter Elle grows up, what will you advise her about love and men?

I haven’t given that that much thought yet because it’s complicated. The best way to deal with it is when it’s already there. I just promise to be honest about everything. I will talk to her like a woman. Not like she’s a princess in a fairy tale. That’s something you make 5-year-old girls believe. Not a young adult whom you want to be strong and realistic.

What is the state of your heart right now?

My heart is fat and happy. It’s so full. I couldn’t ask for more.

‘Yolanda’ anthem

Jim Paredes created a special song dedicated to the wonderful people of the nations who came to our rescue after Supertyphoon “Yolanda” wreaked havoc in the Visayas region.

The anthem is called, “Thank You World” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6tHwIAK-cY). It’s gaining more and more views daily.

What makes it all the more touching is the cute little girl singing along with Jim. The lyrics include “Thank You” in different languages which sounds so endearing.

Bravo, Jim for flooding the world with gratitude à la Pinoy.

JASMINE Curtis-Smith is sweet, lovely.

Sweet Jasmine

I love the new Goldilocks Caramel Pusong Mamon commercial featuring Jasmine Curtis-Smith. The pairing couldn’t possibly be sweeter!

I’ve always thought that Jasmine has such a caring and lovely side to her, and it seems that the softness of the yummy product captured just that.

I look forward to seeing Jasmine endorse more products from my favorite bakeshop. Meanwhile, I can’t get enough of this new heart-shaped mamon. A sign of love to come for me? We gotta talk, Cupid or else I’ll poke you with your arrow.
