She wasn’t about to be ‘a sideshow’
JOHN ESTRADA and Priscilla Meirelles’ beach wedding last Saturday was a star-studded occasion. Among those who were guests at the romantic ceremony were Lorna Tolentino, Randy Santiago, Ai Ai de las Alas, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez and Kris Aquino. Also present were John’s children with Janice de Belen—Inah, Moira, Kayla and Yuan, who were part of the entourage.
Awkward
Not a few guests wondered, where was Janice?
In an interview aired on “Paparazzi” on Sunday, Janice said she skipped her ex-husband’s wedding because she didn’t want to make things awkward for everybody, or draw unnecessary attention.
“Everybody deserves a chance to be happy. And like I’ve said before, having me around as they start a new life together is really weird. They didn’t need me there,” Janice said.
“Huwag naman nating gawing circus ang kasal nila. And I also don’t want to be a sideshow,” she added.
On “The Buzz” that same day, John was asked if he felt the need to inform Janice about the wedding beforehand.
“Kung kailangan talaga, bakit hindi? Pero hindi ko po naisip na kailangan ko pa magpasintabi dahil matagal na kaming hiwalay ni Janice … Matagal na po kaming annuled, mga seven or eight years na po,” he said. “Pero I really appreciate Janice being the mother of my kids. She’s a wonderful mother.”
