A seemingly innocuous question from “Family Feud” host Dingdong Dantes sparked an online storm after netizens regarded it as a veiled reference to former President Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest via chartered flight to be brought to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to answer charges of crimes against humanity.
Through an art card recently posted on the game show’s official Facebook page, Dantes posed the question, “Sa Pilipinas, ang suspek na inaaresto ay isinasakay sa: A. Police car, or B. Eroplano.” (In the Philippines, a suspect who is being arrested is taken in a A. Police car or B. Airplane.)
In the comments section, netizens are quick to link Dantes’ query to Duterte’s arrest.
“A, Police Car. Pwede din po sa eroplano, deretso ICC charrr (It could be also through a airplane bound for ICC),” wrote one netizen.
“B po, eroplano papuntang Netherlands (airplane en route to Netherlands),” pitched in another netizen.

On March 11, Duterte was arrested at the NAIA airport from a Hong Kong trip, and within hours was chartered on a private plane en route to The Hague, Netherlands. The former chief executive is currently detained in the ICC facility in The Hague, Netherlands where he is facing investigation for alleged extra judicial killings that he had ordered against drug addicts, first as mayor of Davao City, and then as president of the country.
Duterte has repeatedly denied ordering the Philippine National Police (PNP) from killing the innocent, but thousands still ended up being killed execution-style during his war on drugs. Police officials later on admitted during congressional hearings that they had a reward system for having killed certain individuals who were in the PNP’s drug watchlist.
His high-profile arrest sparked various reactions not just from political experts but also showbiz personalities and his supporters.
Talent manager and showbiz vlogger Ogie Diaz previously urged the former president’s supporters to offer prayers for the latter instead of engaging in arguments and targeting celebrities who are being vocal about their criticism for Duterte.
Actress and singer Gladys Guevarra also urged the public to respect each other’s opinions and to pray for the government to “heal,” amid the arrest of the ex-president.
Meanwhile, actor-host John Lapus, had a different prayer in mind as he hope for Duterte to face definitive imprisonment following his initial arrest.
