Kim Soo-hyun says Kim Sae-ron not a minor when they dated

Kim Soo-hyun’s agency GoldMedalist admitted that he and the late actress Kim Sae-ron indeed dated, although it noted that the pair’s relationship started in 2019, when the latter was already a “legal adult.”
GoldMedalist, which previously denied the dating claims involving the actor, issued a statement on Friday, March 14, as per Korean media outlet Soompi.
The agency said it decided to address the matter a week earlier than the initial schedule because Soo-hyun already “exhibited signs of severe psychological instability.”
“Following HoverLab’s report, Kim Soo Hyun has been experiencing extreme confusion due to claims that the cause of the sudden death of the deceased is attributed to him,” it said.
HoverLab was the YouTube channel that earlier released photos of the former couple and broadcasted claims from a woman who introduced herself as the late actress’ aunt.
Addressing the dating claims, GoldMedalist revealed, “Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were in a relationship from the summer of 2019, after Kim Sae Ron became a legal adult, until the fall of 2020. It is not true that Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor.”
The agency said the photos of the former couple were taken within 2019 to 2020, even noting that the outfit worn by Sae-ron in one of the photos was only released in June 2019. This detail, as per GoldMedalist, “[makes] HoverLab’s claim that the photos were taken in 2016—when Kim Sae Ron was a minor—impossible.”
With regards to the supposed letters sent by So-hyun to Sae-ron during his military service, the agency claimed that they were just “among the letters sent to close acquaintances.”
GoldMedalist said that HoverLab “distorted” Sae-ron’s photos and the postcards “to make ordinary letters appear as love letters.”
The agency, citing a report from an unidentified media outlet, also stated that the woman who earlier claimed to be Sae-ron’s aunt was just an acquaintance of the late actress’ mother.
“Distorted information based on a source whose identity is not even clear has led to the creation of rumors without any verification from the parties involved,” the agency continued. “The extremely private lives of the two have been forcibly exposed by others, causing immense pain not only to Kim Soo Hyun but also to those around both individuals.”
“We believe that the public’s perspective and criticism regarding the series of events involving Kim Soo Hyun should be accepted. However, Kim Soo Hyun, simply because he is a public figure, cannot just unconditionally accept numerous falsehoods and personal attacks,” it added.
