Taiwanese actor Darren Wang was reportedly questioned by prosecutors for his alleged involvement in an attack on a taxi driver, which resulted in the lattermost suffering from severe injuries.

Wang, popular for starring in the Taiwanese film “Our Times,” arrived in Taiwan from a trip and booked a ride to pick him up at an airport, as per a Taipei Times report.

The actor was apparently dissatisfied with the type of vehicle sent to him as well as the service of the driver. Wang then allegedly hired a “friend” to beat the driver as well as the dispatcher. It was not immediately clear, however, when the incident happened.

FEATURED STORIES

Wang and his friend are in the custody of the police, who are reportedly handling the case as attempted murder.

Aside from this case, Wang is also under a separate investigation for allegedly evading mandatory military service by faking a heart condition. Wang, as per The Straits Times, was accused of paying a crime syndicate to forge medical documents to get an exemption from enlistment in the military.

The actor was arrested last Feb. 18 for this and was released on the same day after posting a bail amounting to NT$150,000 (over P260,000);.

Wang was expected to begin his military service on March 13, although it has yet to be known as of this writing if the recent accusations against him would affect his scheduled enlistment.
