Jamela Villanueva, the non-showbiz ex-girlfriend of Anthony Jennings, stated that she doesn’t mind seeing her followers decrease, as she pointed out that her world doesn’t revolve around social media.
Villanueva addressed the drop in followers on her Instagram in a now-expired Story, when a netizen said she caught the attention of the public during the height of her controversial breakup with Jennings, as well as the latter’s romantic involvement with Maris Racal.
“My world is not revolving around it naman (actually), but I am thankful for those who still stay and show support. Reminder na din (as well) that our personal worth and self-value should not be dependent sa (on the) external validation or the opinions of others,” she said.

She also reminded her followers to be mindful of their values and purpose, noting that “true fulfillment and confidence” come from within.
“Importante din (as well) to understand and know yourself, your values, and your purpose. Kasi (Because) true fulfillment and confidence naman come from within, not from seeking approval from others,” Villanueva said.
“Kapag may (If you have a) strong sense of self ka, you can just be authentic and go through life without feeling like you have to follow or live up to [other] expectations,” she further added.
In a separate Instagram Story, Villanueva was then accused of seeking “attention and affirmation” on social media after her breakup. She, however, denied the claim, saying she went “lowkey” after getting into a relationship, apparently hinting at Jennings.
“No dear, you just don’t know me that well. Way back when I was in college pa, I love engaging and interacting with my followers. They know that. I just went a bit quiet and stayed lowkey when I got into a relationship [because] I have to make some adjustments,” she said.

The social media influencer added that she has since “reconnected with [her] old self.”
“Now I’m back to reconnecting with my old self who’s not afraid to express and just be herself,” she said.
Villanueva and the “Incognito” star had been in a relationship for nearly seven years until the actor confirmed they had parted ways in November 2024. A month later, the influencer broke her silence about their split, where she exposed the alleged intimate conversations between Jennings and Racal on her Instagram Stories.
This led to the onscreen partners apologizing for the incident in separate statements, with Racal saying she was led on by Jennings to believe that he was single prior to their blooming relationship.
Two months after the incident, Villanueva said at a dental clinic event that she is not yet ready to be romantically involved and would be focusing on herself.
