Taeyang captivates fans with rendition of TJ Monterde’s ‘Palagi’

It seems that solo artist and BigBang member Taeyang is aware of the country’s biggest OPM hits where he sent hearts racing with a captivating rendition of TJ Monterde’s hit song “Palagi.”
Taeyang brought his fans to their feet as he performed “Palagi” during his “The Light Year” show in Pasay on Saturday, February 22, as seen in fan-taken videos on X (formerly Twitter).
After his first rendition, fans cheered for him to perform the song again, to which he complied.

His rendition caught the attention of Monterde who expressed shock at his performance on his X (formerly Twitter) page. “Palagi” was first released by the latter in 2023 and a duet version with his wife KZ followed a year later.

Aside from “Palagi,” Taeyang He performed his songs “Vibe,” “Wedding Dress,” “Blue,” “I Need A Girl,” “Shoong!,” Eyes, Nose, Lips,” and “Superstar,” as well as BigBang’s “We Like 2 Party,” and “If You” throughout the show.
On Instagram, Taeyang made a reference to Monterde’s hit song while thanking his fans for their support.
“Thank u Manila. Love u palagi (always),” he captioned his post.

Among the celebrities who witnessed Taeyang performing live were BINI members Stacey, Maloi, Colet, and Sheena, as seen on Stacey’s Instagram Stories. She also shared a clip of herself screaming at the singer-songwriter performing “Shoong.”

Taeyang debuted as the main vocalist and main dancer of BigBang in August 2006, and established his solo career two years later with his first EP “Hot.” He is best known for his hit songs “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” “Wedding Dress,” and “I Need A Girl,” to name a few.
