Barbie Imperial on what matters most amid romance with Richard Gutierrez

A few days after Richard Gutierrez soft-launched their rumored relationship in an interview, Barbie Imperial reflected on dwelling on “inconsequential and petty things” and how it steals a person’s happiness.
In a now-expired Instagram Story, Imperial tells her followers about pursuing what matters most and not get distracted by trivial things, even attaching a bible verse to underscore her point.
“Every day when you get up, you need to remind yourself what counts and what doesn’t count. Don’t be distracted by what’s inconsequential and petty in life. Why is it an important habit? Have you noticed how easy it is to lose your joy over some small thing?” her post read.
“We’re living for things that don’t really matter. So to be counter culture, you’ve got to focus not on what’s current but what’s eternal. When you live in the light of eternity, you realize that the small things you’re worrying about aren’t going to matter in eternity,” she said.
Imperial made the post amid her rumored relationship with Gutierrez, whose separation from his estranged wife Sarah Lahbati was attended with allegations of “overlapping” with the “Batang Quiapo” star. Gutierrez denied such claims during his recent sit-down interview with showbiz insider Ogie Diaz.
Imperial and Gutierrez first sparked dating rumors after they were spotted together at a gastropub in Alabang in January 2024. They were seen together on multiple occasions, including behind-the-scene hangouts at the actor’s series “Incognito” and a trip to South Korea.
Also in his interview with Diaz, Gutierrez said Imperial’s “realness” is one of her standout traits and she has always been “genuine.”
“Ang gusto ko lang sigurong i-clarify doon sa mga tao is that si Barbie walang kinalaman sa paghihiwalay namin ni Sarah. Hindi siya third party, hindi nag-overlap (I just want to clarify that Barbie had nothing to do with my separation from Sarah. She’s not a third party. There was no overlap),” he said.
“Si Barbie kasi totoong tao, mabuting tao, maalaga. Makikita mo na genuine ‘yung intentions niya, genuine ‘yung pagkatao niya (Barbie is a real person. She’s good. She’s caring. You can see that she has genuine intentions and she is a genuine person),” he said of the actress.
