Filipino beauty queens seem to have it all. Being crowned in a pageant-crazy country, they enjoy a wealth of privileges aside from the prizes they received as winners. But they, too, have Christmas wishes, as shared by the Mutya ng Pilipinas titleholders.

Reigning queen Alyssa Redondo, who finished third in the recently-concluded 2024 Miss Intercontinental pageant in Egypt, said she wishes to be surrounded by family, and take a little break.

“Just spending time with my family, I can’t wait. My brother’s in the military and he’s coming for Christmas, so I’m really excited for that, to have family time,” she told INQUIRER.net at her homecoming press conference held recently at the CWC Design Center in Makati City.

Mutya ng Pillipinas-Visayas 2022 Megan Campbell echoed the same sentiments. “My Christmas wish is more family time,” said the 2024 World Top Model first runner-up.

“A wonderful rest period for everybody,” was what 2022 Mutya ng Pilipinas top winner Iona Gibbs wishes for this Christmas, while 2018  Mutya ng Pilipinas first runner-up Justine Teng prays for peace of mind, for her parents to be healthy, and for her friends to be happy.

Architect and actress Xena Ramos is more forward looking. “I hope that the coming year will still be full of blessings, more success. And I hope that my family’s health will still be good,” said the 2024 Mutya ng Pilipinas-Charity.

Reigning Miss Environment International Shannon Robinson, meanwhile, knocked on her fellow queens’ hearts. “My Christmas wish is for my friends here to donate to the missionaries of the poor,” she said.

She is enjoying an extended reign as international titleholder. After snagging the title in India in June 2023, Robinson was supposed to relinquish her crown this year. But the global organization recently announced that her successor will be crowned in the Philippines in June 2024.
