On-screen partners Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards have officially bid farewell to their iconic characters as Joy and Ethan, respectively, as they wrapped up the promotion of “Hello, Love, Again,” the sequel to their 2019 film “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
On Friday, Dec. 13, the pair attended a VIP screening of their blockbuster film. As they closed their interview for the night, Bernardo and Richards made a salute and, in chorus, said they were signing off from their characters.
“This has been Ethan del Rosario. This has been Joy Marie Fabregas officially signing off,” they said.
Bernardo shared that it would be her last work day for 2024, as she stressed that despite the promotion for “Hello, Love, Again” meeting its end, her friendship with Richards and the cast will remain.
“Bakasyon na ako. Siguro mapi-feel ko (na miss ko sila) in the coming weeks. Siguro slowly magsi-sink in na sa akin yun na it’s done,” she said.
“I’m sure magkikita kita pa rin kami nila Direk Cathy (Garcia-Sampana), Tisoy, and the cast. The film has ended, but the friendship will remain. We will be there for one another after what happened five years ago,” added the actress.
The VIP screening was attended by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos; Senators Chiz Escudero, Pia and Alan Peter Cayetano, and Grace Poe; Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano; and ABS-CBN and GMA executives.
“Hello, Love, Again” made history after it crossed the P1-billion mark at the global box office. The sequel has been breaking records at the box office since its release. It also broke its way into the US Top 10 box office at No. 8.
Aside from Richards and Bernardo, the record-setting film also stars Joross Gamboa, Jennica Garcia, Valerie Concepcion, Ruby Rodriguez, Kevin Kreider, Mark LaBella Marc, Marvin Aritrangco, Lovely Abella, Kakai Bautista and Jameson Blake.
