Anika Noni Rose gushes over Chelsea Manalo’s Princess Tiana look

Anika Noni Rose, the voice actress behind Princess Tiana, was all praises for Miss Universe Philippines Chelsea Manalo who dressed up as the Disney character in a recent shoot.

Tiana is Disney’s first African-American princess in the 2009 animated film “The Princess and the Frog.”

The Tony-winning American actress expressed her admiration for Manalo through her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Oct. 30 (Tuesday, Oct. 29 in the United States).

“Miss Universe Philippines Chelsea Manalo channeling her inner Princess Tiana this #TianaTuesday. Salamat (Thank you), beautiful,” Rose said.

Aside from Princess Tiana, Rose is also known for her portrayal of Lorrell Robinson, the third Dreamgirl opposite Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson in the 2006 musical film “Dreamgirls.”

Meanwhile, Manalo’s Princess Tiana was also featured in the social media pages of international publications Rolling Stones, Elle, media platforms Gossip Room and Beauty Studio.

Manalo earlier arrived in Mexico for the culminating activities of the Miss Universe 2024.

Manalo is set to compete against over 120 delegates to inherit the crown from Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios. The pageant’s coronation night will be held at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Nov. 16 (Nov. 17 in the Philippines).
