Olympian gymnast Levi Jung-Ruivivar joins showbiz, signs up with Viva
Weeks after her stint at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Filipina-American gymnast Levi Jung Ruivivar is making her way into showbiz after she signed a contract with Viva Artists Agency.
In a press conference, Jung-Ruivivar admitted that she had always been passionate about the entertainment industry, citing her family history. The gymnast is the daughter of actors Anthony Ruivivar and Yvonne Jung.
“I’ve always had a passion for the entertainment industry. I don’t know if it’s due to how I was born, but it has to do with my parents both being actors,” she said.
The gymnast also shared that she will focus on brand deals, modeling, and “building [her] platform,” as she still sets her sights on the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, in the United States. “We discussed doing brand deals and modeling. And in the future, acting and modeling. That would be my primary goal.”
“Right now, centered on modeling and brand deals but I’m pretty enthusiastic about social media and building my platform,” Jung-Ruivivar continued. “Training is going to be vital. And then all the other projects, also it’s work but it fills me up. And it excites me. Instead of viewing it as work, it’s more viewing it as something that I can use to make me happy.”

Jung-Ruivivar also reiterated that she will still be focused on preparing for the Olympics despite her budding showbiz career, saying she wants to use her gymnastic ability to represent the Philippines.
“I’m really hopeful to do it in 2028 in LA as well and continue to compete for the Philippines in the SEA Games, Asian Games, Asian Championships. Even though the Olympics is in four years, everything will come to do that as well,” she said.
But if she could choose whom she wants to work with in the future, Jung-Ruivivar said she wants to be on a project with Julia Barretto in the future.
“People say I look like Julia Barretto. She’s my long-lost sister, so I would love to work with her,” she said.
The gymnast was deemed qualified to represent the Philippines in the recent Olympics through the 2024 FIG World Cup series. She ended her stint at 40th place overall, after ranking 54th on floor exercise, 64th on the balance beam, and 40th on the uneven bars.
