Sarah Geronimo, Matteo Guidicelli try ‘Maybe This Time’ dance craze
Pop star royalty Sarah Geronimo delighted her fans as she finally took on the popular dance craze featuring her cover of “Maybe This Time.”
During a recent event at General Santos City over the weekend, Geronimo performed the ballad hit. In the middle of her performance, she noticed that the crowd was not dancing.
She then requested the technical team to repeat the bridge of “Maybe This Time” and asked the fans to stand up and dance as she also gave in to the dance steps herself. Her husband, actor Matteo Guidicelli, also briefly joined her on stage.
As of this writing, Geronimo’s video has accumulated around 5.1 million views and has been countlessly shared on different social media platforms.
Geronimo’s cover recently took over TikTok and became the latest dance trend. The song’s bridge, “She’s smilin’ like she used to smile way back then, she’s feelin’ like she used to feel way back when, they tried, but somethin’ kept them, waiting for this magic moment,” was made popular by a quirky dance step, highlighting a “kaldag” or bump, that shows off a joyful groove to a sad melody.

His desire was then acknowledged by Guidicelli, who re-posted Villaruz’s interview on X (formerly Twitter) and simply wrote, “See you soon.”
Since the dance went viral in July, hundreds of netizens and many celebrities like actress Ysabel Ortega, actor Dennis Trillo, Stell Ajero of SB19, Sheena Catacutan of BINI, and two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo have joined the dance challenge.
“Maybe This Time” was originally performed by American country singer-songwriter Michael Martin Murphey in 1983.
Geronimo released her version of the song as the soundtrack for her film “Maybe This Time,” where she starred opposite Coco Martin.
