Aiah Arceta of BINI expressed her joy to have a recent “respectful” encounter with some of her fans after having to deal with “unpleasant” public experiences in the past.

The girl group member took to X (formerly Twitter) to re-post a video of her comfortably interacting and taking pictures with fans in a fast food chain in BGC.

The video bore the text: “This is the positive impact of the girls speaking up. Fans learn to show respect. Not the dumog (swarm) culture. Look how she gladly posed with the crew and the fans who nicely asked for pictures. It’s comforting to see her feel safe in a public space.”

Arceta acknowledged the video and wrote in her caption, “I just wanna acknowledge and commend everyone I have met yesterday! I got to walk around BGC after a long time. My friend even said how it was very peaceful and nice of how others would approach me to talk or ask for a picture, all in a very respectful way.”

“It was nice to meet and see you guys! Sana masarap ulam niyo palagi (I hope your meal is delicious always) [heart sign emoji],” she added.

In July, Arceta appealed to the public to respect the “personal time and humanity” of celebrities after she experienced a disturbing encounter with a guy who accosted her at a lounge bar in Cebu City.

Aside from Arceta, other members of BINI also experienced being mobbed by fans whenever they were seen in public places, enjoying personal time with friends and family.

Just recently, BINI’s Gwen Apuli lamented on social media about fans who went as far as knock on their hotel rooms just to ask for photos.

Meanwhile, the Nation’s Girl Group documentary “BINI Chapter 1: Born to Win” will start airing on September 26.

A teaser video of their meteoric rise from their earliest days to their successful first solo concert has been recently uploaded on iWantTFC’s YouTube channel.

“This is the first chapter in a trilogy that celebrates the Nation’s Girl Group and how their sisterhood has guided their journey in the music scene,” said director Jet Leyco. “We’re excited to share the story of triumph and dreams and how the girls persevered through struggles.”
