BINI Gwen gets support from Lea Salonga amid privacy concern
Broadway superstar Lea Salonga backed up Gwen Apuli, member of P-pop girl group BINI, after the latter lamented on social media about fans, who went to their room just to ask for photos.
The “Miss Saigon” star underscored the importance of “respecting boundaries,” as members of BINI are also humans who do not deserve the fans’ self-entitlement.
“Say it with me. Respect boundaries,” said Salonga in her caption alongside a screenshot of Apuli’s post.
“Hate me all you want for beating the drum loudly about this (I’ll gladly be the villain in your story), but the entitlement and disrespect are just too much! The ladies of Bini are human beings!” continued the theater actress.
In July 2023, Salonga became the subject of headlines after she confronted fans who went to her dressing room without permission just to ask for photos.

Apuli was supported by her fellow members, Colet Vergara and Aiah Arceta, who shared their respective thoughts regarding the incident.
Earlier this year, BINI members initially appealed for their personal space to be respected after Arceta had a “disturbing” encounter with a guy who seemingly “asserted” himself to her at a bar in Cebu.
Meanwhile, another member, Maloi Ricalde, also got mobbed by fans while she was dining out with her family in a restaurant in Lemery, Batangas.
At the time, Star Magic head Lauren Dyogi issued an appeal to fans to respect BINI’s privacy and personal space.
