Claudine Barretto, other celebrities pay last respects to Alexa Gutierrez
Claudine Barretto is one of the celebrities who paid their last respects to Alexa Gutierrez, as well as extend their condolences personally to her bereaved family, including the latter’s husband, former child star Elvis Gutierrez.
Barretto took to Instagram to share photos from her visit on the last day of Alexa’s wake, saying that the Gutierrez are like real family to her.
“My deepest condolences to the Uichico and Gutierrez families. Thank God, nakahabol ako (I managed to make it in the) sa wake of Alexa. The Gutierrez’s have been like family to me ever since I was a little girl,” she wrote in the caption.
“I was to stay two more days in Cebu, but I told Tita [@annabelleramai] na uuwi ako earlier for Alexa’s wake. My flight was super delayed; I arrived around midnight and went straight to the wake. Please pray for Alexa, Elvis, and their families. May our good Lord embrace all of you at this time of your grief,” added the actress.

Ruffa Gutierrez shared on her Instagram story that Barretto provided a coffee truck for the attendees of the wake.
Article continues after this advertisementAside from the “Mula sa Puso” actress, Vina Morales also attended the eulogy night for Alexa. TV host Tim Yap and actress Bubbles Paraiso also paid a separate visit to the wake.
As seen in the video uploaded on Ruffa’s TikTok, Eddie Gutierrez turned emotional as he delivered his eulogy last night, talking about his late daughter-in-law.
“Lahat ng anak ko lalaki, isa lang ang babae si Ruffa. Pero nung dumating si Alexa sa buhay ko, nadagdagan ako ng isa (all of my children are all boys; Ruffa is the only girl, but when Alexa came into my life, I got one more),” he said tearfully.
Meanwhile, Richard Gutierrez’s estranged wife, Sarah Lahbati, also paid a heartfelt tribute to her estranged late sister-in-law on her Instagram page.
Alexa succumbed to her battle with leukemia on Saturday, July 27, at age 38. She was succeeded by her husband and their two daughters, Aria and Ezra.
Her inurnment was held on Thursday, Aug. 1, after holding a wake at the Santuario De San Antonio, Forbes Park, McKinley Road in Makati City from July 29 to 31.
