Max Collins, Roberta Tamondong warn vs scammer asking for ‘donations’ for Carina victims
Max Collins and Roberta Tamondong asked the public to beware of a scammer using the celebrities’ names to collect “donations” for a supposed relief operation for people affected by typhoon Carina.
The actress and the beauty queen took to their respective Instagram pages to show screenshots of their friends’ conversations with the scammer, who used Viber accounts with the two’s photos as display pictures.
“Please block this person messaging my friends asking for donations. Feeling ko this is someone from work. Please stop scamming people,” Collins said.
“Nakakahiya ka kung sino ka man. Taking advantage of my friends,” she added.

Tamondong likewise asked her followers to block the scammer should they encounter them. “Kung sino man pong nagpapanggap na ako at gustong humingi ng pera sa mga kaibigan ko at kapamilya, hindi po ako ‘yun.”
Collins and Tamondong also showed the account number of the scammer which was registered under the name of a certain “Ernst Steve Luke H B.”
Carina’s strong rains, along with the enhanced southwest monsoon or “habagat,” caused widespread flooding in Metro Manila and neighboring towns on Wednesday, July 24.
Several celebrities who were affected by the flooding include Aiko Melendez, Rosana Roces and Michael de Mesa.
