Binibining Pilipinas 2024 pays tribute to departed queens

The Binibining Pilipinas 2024 pageant has paid tribute to the queens who have passed on at the 60th anniversary show on Sunday, July 7, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at the Araneta City in Quezon City.
A video presentation was played to honor the departed Binibining Pilipinas queens, starting with Myrna Panlilio, the pageant’s first-ever queen, who was crowned in 1964.
The pageant also honored 1979 Miss Young Pilipinas Maria Teresa Carlson, 1993 Binibining Pilipinas International Sheela Mae Santarin, and 1981 Miss Maja Pilipinas Josephine Bautista.
Also recognized were Binibining Pilipinas titleholders Diana Jeanne Christine Chiong (1980), Pinky Alberto (1977), and Melody Gersbach (2009).
The Binibining Pilipinas pageant also paid tribute to 1972 Miss Charming Pilipinas Maria Isabel Seva, 1971 Queen of the Pacific Nelia Sancho, and 1980 Miss Universe third runner-up Chat Silayan.
Two new queens will be crowned at the end of the show. Binibining Pilipinas International Angelica Lopez and Binibining Pilipinas Globe Anna Lakrini are set to relinquish their respective title to their successors.

The new Binibining Pilipinas International winner will be sent to the 63rd Miss International pageant next year, while the new Binibining Pilipinas Globe will compete in The Miss Globe contest later this year.
