Alethea Ambrosio is showcasing Filipino fashion so fabulously at the 2024 Miss Supranational pageant in Poland, parading in exquisite creations made by some of the most talented designers in the Philippines.
She clinched a semifinal spot in the “Supra Model of the Year” contest wearing a fuchsia and green ensemble by designer Larry Espinosa, inspired by the “Kalachuchi” flower. The slinky piece bared her legs and midriff, with vine-like accents caressing her figure. Floral appliqués finished the look.
Ambrosio raised the banner for the Asia and Oceania region in the auxiliary event, along with the delegate from Myanmar, and the representative from Thailand who eventually advanced to the Top 6.
Another Larry Espinosa creation graced the Miss Supranational stage when Ambrosio paraded his “Golden Warrior” gown during the preliminary evaluation. The custom gold armor warrior-inspired fringed gown swayed with every step she took on the runway.
Ehrran Montoya designed a contemporary national costume inspired by the “Sampaguita” flower for Ambrosio, which he dubbed as “Halimuyak.” The voluminous piece was a vision in white, incorporating a large shoulder piece and matching headpiece, with a long train adorned with white petal accents.
The designer said, “the exquisite ensemble celebrates the purity and grace of the Filipina, with its intricate beadwork and textures in shades of white, reminiscent of the delicate petals of the Sampaguita.”
Montoya said the costume pays homage to the Philippines’ rich flora. “Embellished with intricate patterns and adorned with floral motifs, it captures the essence of Filipino culture and tradition while embracing the spirit of innovation and modernity,” he continued.
For the crucial interview round, Ambrosio opted for a red power suit, The Miss Philippines shared on social media. “Striking, bold, confident. The woman [who] wears red does not shy away from attention and is not afraid of making a statement,” the national organization said in the caption.
Ambrosio is competing against 67 other aspirants from all over the world in the 15th edition of the Miss Supranational pageant. Only one Filipino woman has so far earned the title, Mutya Johanna Datul who won in 2013.
The 2024 Miss Supranational pageant will hold its coronation show at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sacz, Poland, on July 6 (July 7 in Manila).
