Cristine Reyes and Rosanna Roces made public their encounters with scammers, serving as a reminder for others to be cautious of dishonest people’s schemes.

Reyes shared her experience through an Instagram post on Monday, June 24, showing a charity event she and her companions hosted in May at the National Center for Mental Health.

Unfortunately, Reyes did not hear again from the people who reached out to her after they got the money.

Ako ay nagtanda,” she said.

P9,000-worth parcel

Roces, meanwhile, narrated a recent incident with a delivery rider, who asked her to pay for a P9,000 worth of parcel that she did not order.

Paghipo ko parang kapote ang laman na may halong karton,” the actress said on her Facebook page.

Itapon mo ‘yan, kuya. Scam yan!'” she continued.

In an exchange with Bandera, Roces said that she refused to pay the cash-on-delivery item because she always uses the online payment option for her orders, hence the parcel was not hers.

“Tsaka ‘pag lumagpas [sa] 600 ang item, mahal na sa akin ‘yon [kaya] pag-iisipan ko pa mabuti,” she noted, adding that she shared her experience to warn her fellow online consumers against scammers.
