Rendon Labador and Rosmar Tan issued a public apology after residents and members of the Coron, Palawan LGU moved for the vloggers, who caused a commotion at the Coron municipal hall, to be declared persona non grata in the municipality.

The incident happened after Labador and Rosmar, alongside their fellow “Team Malakas” vlogger Marki Tan, berated municipal staff Jho Cayabyab Trinidad for airing her dismay over the vloggers’ charity event.

The vloggers, according to Trinidad, held the event to use it as a mere vlog content.

She further said the vloggers did not consider the welfare of the residents who had waited for them for an hour, as well as the exhausted municipal staff members who were not given anything in return for their assistance.

Labador, Rosmar and Marki then stormed the municipal hall and confronted Trinidad, as seen in a video shared by Labador.

Labador even addressed Coron mayor Mario Reyes Jr., who was in Puerto Princesa for an official trip at that time, saying staff members like Trinidad is a “poison” to their town.

The video of the commotion went viral, drawing the attention of Reyes and Coron Sangguniang Bayan member Juan Patricio Eyes.

The mayor said they have began investigating the matter, specifically noting his dismay over what transpired in the mayor’s office.

Eyes, for his part, demanded a public apology from the vloggers, pointing out how Rosmar even declared “never again Coron, Palawan” which, he said, could cause “negative publicity for a whole municipality.”

In a succeeding post, Eyes revealed they already prepared a resolution to declare Labador, Rosmar and Marki persona non grata in Coron.

The resolution will be filed at the regular session on June 24.

‘We will be better’

Labador, Rosmar and Marki then took to Facebook to issue a public apology as well, saying they are mere humans who commit mistakes.

“Pasensya na po kay Ma’am Jho, sa munisipyo at lalong-lalo na po kay Mayor at sa bayan ng Coron, Palawan. Sorry po talaga na pinost ko na ‘Never again Coron.’ Hindi ko po sinasadya na i-generalize ko kayo,” Rosmar said.

“Nagpadala po ako sa bugso ng damdamin at ‘yun po ‘yung pinakamaling nagawa ko. Alam ko pong pagkakamali po ‘yon. Sana mapatawad nyo po ako,” added Rosmar who later turned emotional.

Rosmar further noted if the municipality decides that the persona non grata resolution is the fair response to the incident, she and the rest of the team will accept the punishment.

Labador, for his part, appealed to the Coron mayor to spare Rosmar and instead give the punishment to him.

“Kami po ay nagpapakababa sa inyong lahat na susubukan po namin na baguhin kung ano man po ‘yung pagkakamali namin, kung sumobra man po kami,” Labador said.

“Tingin po namin, ito po ay magiging lesson sa amin as a team. We will be better at babawi po kami, at hindi po ito magiging hadlang sa advocacy namin na makatulong at makapagbigay ng inspirasyon sa lahat ng taong nangangailangan,” he added.
