‘Pulang Araw’ starring Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, David Licauco to air in July
The upcoming Kapuso historical drama “Pulang Araw,” starring Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Dennis Trillo, and Sanya Lopez, is scheduled to be released in July.
According to press statements from GMA and Netflix Philippines, “Pulang Araw” will be released on a streaming platform on July 26 while local airing on the Kapuso network is set for July 29.
The drama revolves around four childhood friends Eduardo (Alden Richards), Teresita (Sanya Lopez), Adelina (Barbie Forteza), and Hiroshi (David Licauco) navigating the Japanese occupation of the Philippines.
“As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the country, their dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience,” GMA’s statement read.
Meanwhile, Trillo will star as the Japanese soldier Col. Yuta Saito. Aside from being the villain, details of his character are yet to be revealed, as of this writing.
