Kris Aquino makes progress after autoimmune medicine, food cravings coming back
Kris Aquino once again reached out to her friend, writer-editor Dindo Balares, to reveal she’s making progress with her health condition, with her autoimmune medicine working its magic and “food cravings” coming back.
Balares took to his Instagram account on Wednesday, May 15, to disclose his recent conversation with Aquino. While the Queen of All Media is worried about the findings with her heart based on her trip to the cardiologist, her autoimmune medicines are slowly improving her condition.
“Pinag-usapan namin na broken hearts lang, never na broken spirits… Worried si Kris sa findings ng kanyang cardiologist, lalo’t wala pang pwedeng gawin para maisaayos sa ngayon na napakababa ng kanyang timbang. Pero hindi nito napigilan ang kanyang tuwa sa latest findings naman sa kanyang autoimmune disease,” he said.
(We discussed that while we have broken hearts, we will never have broken spirits. Kris is worried about her latest findings with her cardiologist especially since she can’t do anything to improve her weight yet. But this didn’t stop her from being elated with the latest findings about her autoimmune disease.)
“Finally, pagkaraan ng ilang taon nang pagpapagamot na walang nakikitang progreso, walang natatanaw na liwanag, tinablan na ito sa wakas ng itinaas na dosage ng methotrexate plus Dupixent,” he further added.

The writer-editor added that Aquino wanted to thank the people who prayed for her, but hoped they wouldn’t stop seeking God’s help.
“‘Can you please thank everyone praying for me? Please thank everyone praying BUT they have more to pray for,’” he said. “Prayer works. When we pray, God works.”
Food cravings
In a separate post on Thursday, May 16, Balares disclosed that Aquino’s food cravings are also coming back which is a hint of a person’s condition improving for the better.
“Bumabalik na ang food cravings ni Kris. Sabi ng grandfathers ko… pag naghanap ng masarap na pagkain ang may karamdaman, pabalik na sa mabuting kalusugan ang katawan,” he said.

The writer-editor also recalled a past conversation with Aquino who missed his “laing and lechon kawali.”
“Simulang umalis ng Pilipinas at pumirmi sa US, kanina lang nabanggit ito ni Krisy sa akin: ‘I miss your laing and lechon kawali very much.’ Gagawan ng paraan ni wifey na mapadalhan siya,” he said.
(Since Kris left the Philippines and settled in the US, she recently told me that she missed our laing and lechon kawali very much. My wife will do my best to send her some.)
Back in February, Aquino said in an interview that “the next six months” will be crucial for her as she will be introduced to a “baby dose” of a new drug, which might affect her immune system. She, however, stressed that she would fight her autoimmune condition until the very end.
