Pia Wurtzbach declares Christi McGarry ready for Miss Universe PH crown
Pia Wurtzbach voiced her support for her friend, Miss Universe Philippines 2024 contender Christi McGarry, days before the local pageant organization crowns its new queen.
Wurtzbach, who was McGarry’s 2015 Binibining Pilipinas batchmate, spoke highly of the latter as she recalled how their friendship started, via an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 15.
“McGarry and I go [way] way back in 2015 when we competed together [nine] years ago and despite being ‘competitors’ during the pageant, we grew to be really good friends through the years,” Wurtzbach wrote.
“When I was going for Miss Universe, not even for a single moment did I feel she didn’t want me to win or that she wished for me to fail. Christi was always proud and supportive of me,” she underscored.
Wurtzbach noted that McGarry, 34, was given another chance to pursue her dream to be the Miss Universe titleholder after the pageant lifted its age limit.
