Former couple Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz were visibly ecstatic and proud as their youngest daughter, Chesca, finished high school.
Sunshine gave a glimpse of their daughter’s graduation ceremony at the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School, through her Instagram page on Wednesday, May 15.
Among the clips shown were Chesca receiving her diploma on the stage, waving to her mom who was capturing the moment. Chesca was also gifted a bouquet of sunflowers by her family, which includes her sisters Angelina and Sam as well as Cesar’s partner Kath Angeles.
“Congratulations to our Chesca! We are so proud of you, anak,” Sunshine captioned her post.
After the ceremony, the family celebrated Chesca’s milestone over a meal together.
Sunshine, in a separate post, then expressed her excitement for her youngest daughter—who turned 18 in December last year—venturing into her college journey.
“College is just around the corner, Chesca. While it’s a bit unexpected for you to be living in a condo on your own, we know this is part of your exciting journey,” the actress wrote.
“The whole family is incredibly proud of you, Chesca! Remember, no matter what, we will always be here to support and guide you,” she continued. “Chase after your dreams, and know that we’ve always got your back. We love you, bunso.”
Sunshine and Cesar separated in 2013. Their marriage was annulled in 2018. The actress opened up in 2023 about her renewed friendship with the actor, saying it completed the “lacking piece” in their daughters’ lives.
