Julia Barretto affirms ‘world is healing’ after reconciliation with Bea Alonzo
Julia Barretto opened up about how she values her reconciliation moment with Bea Alonzo, saying she hopes it gives the latter “peace” the same way it did to her.
“The world is healing dahil may mga hugging photos,” actress-TV host Toni Gonzaga told Barretto in an interview vlog on the former’s YouTube channel on Friday, April 26. “The question is, is the world really healing when that happened?”
While Gonzaga did not immediately state the particular instance she was referring to, it can be noted that Barretto and Alonzo—who were involved in a controversy in 2019 with Gerald Anderson—earlier made headlines after they were spotted hugging and laughing together at a party.
Barretto answered Gonzaga affirmatively, “For me, yes. I’m gonna personally speak for myself because I never wanna speak for anybody else.”
“It’s a moment that, of course, vina-value ko ‘yon. That’s why as much as possible—syempre ang daming nag-aask sa akin—I don’t want to go into details so much, kasi ayoko naman that other people would say that it’s some ingenuine moment,” she continued. “It’s a really real moment.”

Barretto also disclosed during the interview that 2019 was the “noisiest year” for her so far, saying she has no idea how she was able to handle all of that “chaos” at the age of 22.
“You also have to take accountability for anong naging role mo sa chaos na ‘yon. Personally, I’m sure na may naging role ako in somebody else’s pain and other people’s pain, in the same way they contributed to my pain, ” she acknowledged.
Looking at the controversy in retrospect, Barretto admitted she had shortcomings and stressed that she was able to heal by taking accountability.
The actress, however, reiterated that she and her now-boyfriend Anderson were not together when they were being condemned over cheating rumors. Hence, she navigated through that “fire” on her own.
“Even when we got together, [it was] another kind of fire. Pero parang when you go through na what we went through before being together, parang everything is kakayanin,” Barretto said.
Addressing questions on her marriage plans, Barretto said she is taking her time and that she is not rushing to settle down with Anderson, with whom she has been in a relationship for five years.
