Did Ruru Madrid ask Bianca Umali’s permission to kiss Angeli Khang in ‘Black Rider?
Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali have long established a relationship ground rule wherein they have to inform one another of any intimate scenes that they need to do with their co-actors.
This ground rule, however, was not followed when Madrid recently did a kissing scene with Vivamax star Angeli Khang, an oversight that had him in knots with his actress-girlfriend.
In the sideline interview with the press during the conference of the second chapter of “Black Rider” on Tuesday, April 16, Madrid said that the secret of his relationship with Umali is that they don’t try to hide anything from each other, especially the intimate scenes they need to do with their co-actors.
“Kami kasi mas transparent kami sa isa’t-isa. Ayun ‘yung nahanap namin na sikreto para mas maging maayos ‘yung relationship namin. Dapat aware kami sa nangyayari sa isat-isa. Lalo na kapag dating sa mga ganiyang bagay para alam namin expectations. social media. May TV para walang gulatan,” he said.
The “Black Rider” star affirmed that his girlfriend is “very transparent” to him, as they have already reached a more in-depth part of their relationship.

However, Madrid revealed that for the recent intimate scene he did with his newest leading lady, Khang, he wasn’t able to share it immediately with his Umali, given that there was no signal at the filming location, and he wasn’t aware that there would be a kissing scene until he was already in the taping, which was also the first filming day for Khang as part of the “Black Rider” family.
“Kwinento ko po agad after ng araw na ‘yon. Sabi ko, ‘kailangan sa eksena. May pinasok na bagong leading lady,'” said Madrid.
But his worry appeared to be for naught as Umali merely said “Okay” when Madrid felt compelled to explain the situation to her. He said that Umali told him that she appreciated his honesty.
Madrid and Umali have been in a relationship for six years.
New force of evil
Meanwhile, Madrid braces for more primetime action as the 2024 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards Bronze Medalist “Black Rider” takes on a new force of evil to make his character Elias Guerrero’s life as a vigilante extra challenging, if not miserable.
More twists and turns are expected to make the action-packed series even more compelling as long-time secrets are set to be revealed.
The past begins to resurface and things are about to change in the life of Vanessa “Bane” Bartolome, played by Yassi Pressman, as the truth about her identity comes out.
“Black Rider” also introduces a new character, Nimfa, portrayed by Khang, who will star in her first-ever TV drama.
Nimfa is a beautiful and charming lady, who is strong-willed when it comes to her disposition to men. Her encounter with Elias soon leads to her significant role in his life.
Viewers should definitely not miss out as the series is yet to unveil how Bane’s true identity and Nimfa’s special role affect the tough yet romance-filled life of Elias.
With the unfolding of a new chapter, more intense and gripping action is expected to be seen as Elias works his way out to handle all the challenges coming his way.
Joining Elias in his new journey are the series’ new characters – Lianne Valentin as Sister Grace; Luke Conde as William; BJ Forbes as Mario; Epy Quizon as Sonny; Madam Inutz as Gina; William Lorenzo as Jojo; Yul Servo as Vice President Rosales; and Matet de Leon as Belen.
Still playing significant roles in the series are the characters of Matteo Guidicelli, Jon Lucas, Herlene Budol, Empoy Marquez, Janus del Prado, Rainier Castillo, Zoren Legaspi, Raymart Santiago, Gary Estrada, Raymond Bagatsing, and Roi Vinzon; as well as veteran actors Gladys Reyes, Maureen Larrazabal, Almira Muhlach, and Ms. Rio Locsin.
