Jamie Lee Curtis teases ‘Freaky Friday 2’ with Lindsay Lohan
Jamie Lee Curtis seemingly confirmed that the filming of the sequel to the 2003 comedy flick “Freaky Friday” with Lindsay Lohan is about to begin.
On Instagram, Curtis shared a recent selfie with her co-star as well as a throwback picture of them as their characters from the first film, simply writing “duh” accompanied by check emoji.

According to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, March 29, Nisha Ganatra, who was tapped by Disney to direct the upcoming sequel, said they “are aiming to film this summer.”
Curtis and Lohan are set to reprise their roles as the mother-daughter duo who find themselves switching bodies and lives one Friday.
Article continues after this advertisementOver the years, the two actors have expressed their desire to reunite for the project as they acknowledged the fans’ call for a “second film to be made.”
Article continues after this advertisement“Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made,’” Curtis told The New York Times in 2022 after the frquent questions she received about “Freaky Friday 2.”
In a separate interview with the Times, Lohan echoed the sentiments of her co-star, saying, “Jamie and I are both open to that, so we’re leaving it in the hands that be. We would only make something that people would absolutely adore.”
The 2003 movie became popular at the time of its release, and despite the anticipated sequel now, the “Freaky Friday” franchise has several other movies, as well as a Broadway production. The franchise is based on the 1972 children’s book by Mary Rogers, with the original adaptation released in 1976.
The script of “Freaky Friday 2″ is said to “bring a multigenerational approach to the story,” with Lohan’s character no longer a teen.
Curtis, who recently won a best supporting actress Oscar for “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” was last seen in the movie “Haunted Mansion” last year. Meanwhile, Lohan appeared in Netflix’s “Irish Wish” released this year.
