Marc Pingris denied speculations of romantic involvement with Kim Rodriguez, clarifying that he was just with the actress for two instances for basketball events.
“Walang katotohanan ang mga lumalabas na balita tungkol sa amin ni Ms. Kim Rodriguez. Walang namamagitan sa aming dalawa gaya ng sinasabi ng ibang tao,” he said via his Instagram page on Thursday, March 28.
(There is no truth to the speculations about me and Ms. Kim Rodriguez. There’s nothing going on between us, unlike what other people claim.)
“Nakasama ko po si Ms. Kim sa isang basketball event at sa isa pang event noong naging muse siya ng team namin,” he stressed. (I was once with Ms. Kim for a basketball event, and I met her again when she was the muse of our team.)
Pingris then thanked those who expressed their concern, assuring fans that his marriage with Danica Sotto-Pingris as well as their family is “okay.”
“‘Wag na po tayo magpakalat ng mga balita na hindi totoo. Humihingi po kami ng respeto para hindi madamay ang mga anak namin ni Danica,” he appealed. “Salamat po at God bless po.”
(Let us not spread false information. I ask for your respect, for the sake of my children with Danica. Thank you and God bless.)
Cheating allegations involving Pingris and Rodriguez apparently made rounds on social media after netizens pointed out photos of the two that were seemingly taken in the same location.
A close friend of Sotto then came to Pingris’ defense and said that “he won’t do that.” Sotto appeared unaffected by the speculations as she responded to her friend’s remark, “Kalma, miga!”
Pingris and Sotto, who have been married since 2007, share three children together, namely Jean Michael, Caela and Jean-Luc.
