It’s official — ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” is taking over GMA’s noontime slot beginning April 6, and will air from Monday to Saturday.

The announcement comes after the noontime show’s hosts and the executives of the Kapamilya and Kapuso networks formally sealed the deal in a historic contract signing ceremony at the GMA Network Center on Wednesday, March 20.

An hour before the event, the mainstay hosts — donning elegant gala costumes in the same shade of red — rode in a blue float heading from Mother Ignacia Avenue in Diliman to Kamuning.

Anne Curtis took to her X (formerly Twitter) page to share glimpses of the “It’s Showtime” cast perched on a dark blue float decked with yellow stars, while Vice Ganda and Kim Chiu uploaded photos of themselves preparing for the contract signing event.

The hosts were then welcomed by loud cheers from fans upon their entry to the Kapuso premises,  before they were welcomed into a grand ceremony was hosted by Iya Villania and Robi Domingo.

Among the executives included are, from GMA, chairman Felipe Gozon, CEO and president Gilberto Duavit, CFO and EVP Felipe Yalong, SVP for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group Annette Gozon-Valdes, and ABS-CBN’s CEO and president Carlo Katigbak, and ABS-CBN chairman Martin Lopez and COO Cory Vidanes.

The noontime show is a confirmation of GMA and ABS-CBN’s “commitment to deliver top-notch entertainment and serve the Filipino people,” according to a joint statement.

“We thank our loyal viewers for their unwavering support for almost 15 years and look forward to connecting with new audiences as ‘It’s Showtime’ embarks on a new journey in creating more unforgettable funanghalian moments together on GMA, GTV, GMA Pinoy TV, and all other platforms,” the media giants added.

During the contract signing, the GMA chairman said viewers can “expect more collaborations” between the Kapuso and Kapamilya networks while underscoring that the “network wars” are truly over.

“It’s Showtime” takes over the noontime slot of TAPE Inc.-helmed “Tahanang Pinakamasaya,” after airing under GMA’s subsidiary network GTV.
