Johnny Manahan did not earn the moniker “Starmaker” for nothing, and his recent “Night of 100 Stars” tribute party was proof of just how many celebrities’ stars he helped polish so that they could shine bright in the local show biz firmament.

Manahan’s party, held at a hotel in Pasay City last Saturday, March 16, brought together the Who’s Who of the entertainment industry from the 90’s to present, and who have now carved their own paths from their home base on ABS-CBN.

The black-and-white event was a celebration of Manahan’s five-decade legacy, with his past and present talents — A-list celebrities, ’90s icons — gathering in one place to toast to his nurturing hand and keen eye for talent. The occasion also served as a reunion of sorts for ex-love teams, and celebrities who have kissed and made up following a controversy.

On the red carpet, Bea Alonzo was an elegant sight in her black body-hugging dress with cut-outs and a flower choker, while Kathryn Bernardo allowed her golden complexion and brown tresses to take center stage in her off-shoulder white dress. Heart Evangelista went for a simple black midi dress completed with platform heels and sparkling accessories.

The gentlemen also cleaned up nicely for the occasion in their impeccable black suits, among them Jericho Rosales, Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Sam Milby, John Lloyd Cruz, Darren Espanto, Robi Domingo, and Donny Pangilinan.

Maricar Reyes, Belle Mariano, Julia Barretto, Ruffa Gutierrez, Andrea Torres, Agot Isidro, Rica Peralejo, Vina Morales, and Francine Diaz were also elegantly dressed for the occasion.

Also spotted at the star-studded event were ’90s icons Kaye Abad and Kristine Hermosa, Claudine Barretto, Guila Alvarez, former ABS-CBN CEO Charo Santos-Concio, broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, Pokwang, Dimples Romana, Sue Ramirez, Martin Nievera, Eric Quizon, Carlos Agassi, and Empoy Marquez, as seen in a group photo on Nice Print Photography’s Instagram page.

The “Night of 100 Stars” was also an unforgettable night for Bea and Julia after they apparently made up their past feud, as they were seen laughing together at the event. Julia also reunited with her aunt Claudine and ex-boyfriend Joshua Garcia.

Manahan, also known as Mr. M among entertainment circles, is known for producing some of the biggest names in showbiz. He was the manager of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic before transferring to Sparkle GMA as a consultant in July 2021.
