If you’re looking for new and exciting pop music, I recommend checking out three emerging pop artists from the States who are making waves in the music industry.
First on the list is Olivia Rodrigo. At just 21 years old, she has already made a significant impact on the pop music scene with her breakthrough debut single, “Driver’s License” which gained immediate attention, developed fanfare and chart movement at the time of its release a few years ago. Olivia Rodrigo’s fresh pop sound and sincere lyrics have resonated with audiences, setting her apart from other newer pop stars.
I am sure more people have heard of Olivia Rodrigo and are getting familiar with her name because of her more current pop hits (“Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?”) that have reached our shores of the world. I, of course, have put her on the top of this mini list of pop artists to listen to, watch out for, and pay attention to because she has the most potential to become a much bigger artist than she is now.

Next is Giveon, whose soulful, baritone-esque, and deep voice has been likened to legendary artists such as Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye. Giveon’s impressive songwriting skills and smooth vocals are showcased in his debut EP ‘Take Time.’ Giveon’s music seamlessly blends elements of R&B and Soul with Modern Pop, creating a fusion sound that is both classic and contemporary. Giveon is the Pop artist among the three I have listed here who has the best vocalization in his arsenal and has the most proper training in his singing voice.

Lastly, Clairo. Clairo’s music, often referred to as “Bedroom Pop,” is characterized by its lo-fi sound and intimate lyrics. Her debut album ‘Immunity’ features an eclectic mix of dreamy ballads, atmospheric sounds, and upbeat tracks that showcase her versatility as an artist. Clairo’s music is oddly nostalgic and current, blending her musical influences from 90s Indie Rock and Modern Pop.

I believe that Clairo’s musical influences shined through in her debut album ‘Immunity’ and there is a certain charm to how that album was put together, and the attention to detail was evident. However, her music can be an acquired taste to a much younger audience.

Each of these three artists has a distinctive and identifiable musical style, which has helped them further stand out in a crowded music industry. Furthermore, their lyrics are very personal and relatable, creating a much easier connection with their respective audiences. Then, from that point on, they can appeal beyond their fanbase.
