Sharon Cuneta supports husband Kiko Pangilinan in filing cyberlibel case

Megastar Sharon Cuneta backed up the decision of her husband, former Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, to file a cyberlibel complaint against “Bungangera TV” for relaying a series of allegations on their YouTube channel that the senator physically abuses his wife and their children, including stepdaughter KC Concepcion.
During a round table interview on Tuesday, March 12, after her appearance in the 5th anniversary of the “Sheroes” campaign of a Filipino insurance company, the award-winning actress-singer affirmed that it’s time that fake news peddlers be put in their proper “place,” given that some people will be encouraged to believe their false claims.
“I think it’s about time. Kasi there are things na we choose our battles, there are things na you know that will just die out in the end, na hayaan mo na lang huwag mo na patulan (just let it go, do not engage),” she began.
“But there are things na, teka muna kahit naman mga 100 may maniniwala dito (wait a minute, at least a 100 people might actually believe in this), people who think that everything that is posted is true, there are people like that kaya nga nauso ‘yung tinatawag na fake news (that’s why the term fake news became a thing),” she further explained.
Cuneta underscored that the allegations made against her husband were beyond unethical and rude.
“This was really way beyond below the belt kasi parang pinapalabas naghiwalay daw kami ni Kiko (they were implying that Kiko and I broke up) because he did something to my eldest daughter. This is so nakakadiri (disgusting). Sorry, it was really kababuyan (sickening),” she remarked.
The “Mr. DJ” singer asserted that if the claims were true, she would take matters into her own hands.
“Sabi ko hindi ba nila naiisip hindi naman ako nakakulong, buhay pa si Kiko, so hindi totoo ‘yon. Kasi kung totoo ‘yon, napatay ko na siya the whole time,” she said laughingly. (I said, don’t they think I’m not in jail, Kiko is still alive, so that’s not true. Because if that’s true, I’ve killed him the whole time.)
Cuneta and Pangilinan are set to celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary this year.
