Megastar Sharon Cuneta set the record straight about the time when she cropped her husband’s head, former Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, in an image for a Christmas posting last year, saying they had a misunderstanding at the time.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, March 12, after her performance in the 5th anniversary of the “Sheroes” campaign of a Filipino insurance company, the “Bituin Walang Ningning” singer shared they were having a lover’s quarrel at the time when she posted the no-head image of Pangilinan, and said she immediately regretted posting it.

“Nag-aaway kami non. You know, we have problems, that’s another thing. How stupid was I, ‘di ba?” But then, pagka-post ko, ‘OMG, mukha akong tanga, ba’t ko pinost, putol ‘yung asawa ko!” she declared.

Cuneta shared that even though she and her husband have misunderstandings every now and then, their fights are never about third parties.

“Kahit na medyo nagkakagulo kami (even if we fight sometimes), Kiko and I have problems, just like any other married couple. But it was never because of someone else. It’s never because of someone else,” she affirmed.

Cuneta remarked that the senator has been a good father figure to her first daughter, KC Conception.

“And I would tell you that Kiko has been a good father to KC since we dated since she was nine. Since we married when she was 11,” she said.

In celebration of International Women’s Month, the award-winning singer-actress shared that she feels most empowered whenever her children and Pangilinan would show appreciation and love towards her.

The megastar also shared that for her, the qualities that “sheroes” or an empowered woman should have are authenticity, someone who lives not just for herself but for other people, and who empowers fellow women as well as men.
