Cannes Film Festival honors late best actress awardee Jaclyn Jose

Cannes Film Festival is among those grieving the death of Jaclyn Jose, the first Filipina to win the best actress award in the prestigious film fest in France.

The film festival paid tribute to Jose, showing a photo of her with her award through its official Instagram page on Wednesday, March 6.

“On learning of the death of Filipina actress Jaclyn Jose, the Festival de Cannes remembers her face beaming with emotion when she received the Award for Best Actress in 2016 in Brillante Mendoza’s ‘Ma’Rosa,'” its caption read.

The award-winning actress died of heart attack on March 2 at the age of 60, as confirmed by her daughter Andi Eigenmann in a press conference.

Aside from Eigenmann who penned a poem for her late mom, several celebrities have sent their farewell messages to Jose via their respective social media pages.

Fellow actors including Jake Ejercito, Alden Richards, Coco Martin and Claudine Barretto were earlier seen attending Jose’s wake at Arlington Memorial Chapel in Quezon City.
