Maine Mendoza says first baby with Arjo Atayde is ‘coming soon’
Will Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde welcome their first child this year? The “Eat Bulaga” host declared on her 29th birthday that their bundle of joy may be “coming soon” in God’s will.
The TV host said this in response to her father-in-law Art Atayde who sent a video message to greet her on her birthday, as seen in an episode of noontime show “Eat Bulaga” on Saturday, March 2.
“First of all, I would like to greet my very nice, very loving and beautiful daughter-in-law, Maine Atayde, a very, very happy birthday. Ayan Maine ha, pinupuri kita dahil birthday mo,” Art began. (I’m praising you because it’s your birthday.)
“Pero, tumatanda ka na. So, where’s the baby? Ano ba ang ginagawa ninyo ni Arjo? Palibhasa, puro shopping siguro?” he asked in jest.
(But you’re already getting old. So, where’s the baby? What are you and Arjo even doing? Are you guys just spending all your time shopping?)

When all the video messages concluded, show host Vic Sotto turned to Mendoza and said, “Ngayon, sagutin mo ‘yung tinatanong ng father-in-law mo.” (Now, answer your father-in-law’s question.)
A laughing Mendoza replied, “Bossing, coming soon. ‘Pag binigay po ni Lord.” (When God blesses us with it.)
Mendoza then went on to thank those who extended their birthday greetings to her including her husband, her parents, her mother-in-law Sylvia Sanchez, sister-in-law Ria Atayde, and friends Maja Salvador, MJ Lastimosa and Ciara Sotto.
Mendoza and Arjo, who met in 2018, tied the knot in a private ceremony in Baguio City in July 2023.
