Gabbi Garcia debunks rumors she joined this year’s MUPH
Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia denied claims that she tried joining this year’s Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH).
In a report on “24 Oras,” Garcia said she was flattered that people were campaigning for her to join the competition but said there is no truth to it.
“While they were presenting the Miss Universe [Philippines candidates] I was in Japan. So hindi talaga siya totoo,” she said.
“Pero nakakatuwa and nakakakilig because they’re considering me but at the same time kasi that’s a lot of things to process hindi naman ganoon kadali sumali lang,” added the actress.
The “My Destiny” star revealed that even 2023 Miss Universe Philippine representative Michelle Dee had reached out to her to ask about the rumors.

The “Encantadia” actress said in 2021 that it had always been her dream to join Miss Universe and that she was just waiting for the right time to fulfill that dream.
“If it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen. If not, I’m also okay with it. Kasi hindi naman lahat, like realistic-wise, it’s not easy to join, especially for me who has a lot of contracts. I’m tied with a lot of brands, with management, with a network,” Garcia said at the time.
“But if you’re just gonna ask me if I have the desire to join, of course, that’s my childhood dream. But we’ll still see,” added the Kapuso star.
For now, Garcia is juggling her acting career, business and love life. She is set to return as Hara Alena in the “Encantadia” spinoff series “Sang’gre,” alongside Bianca Umali, Faith Da Silva, Kelvin Miranda and Angel Guardian.
