AC Bonifacio confessed that there was a time her boyfriend Harvey Bautista was jealous of her close friendship with Michael Sager during her “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB)” stint, although she clarified that their relationship grew stronger after her early eviction.

According to Bonifacio, one of the “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition Collab” housemates she felt closest to was Michael Sager, as both of them hailed from Vancouver, Canada. Their friendship in the “PBB” House, however, was subjected to misinterpretation by netizens, which ultimately affected Bautista.

“Sa’kin kasi, wala po talagang malisya (There was no malice for me),” Bonifacio said of Sager during a recent “Star Magic: Spotlight” media con. “With [Michael], iba ang naging tingin ng viewers, and they started to tag [Harvey on social media], and say such things (Viewers had a different interpretation of it, and they started to tag Harvey on social media and say such things).”

The actress-dancer said that not being able to communicate with Bautista during her “Pinoy Big Brother” stint might have initially messed with his thought process.

At some point, the media con’s Jhai Ho also contributed to Bonifacio’s remarks, saying the actor had a bad mood at one point during a regional show, as it took place during the height of her closeness with Sager.

“So when you’re seeing that and [Harvey] wasn’t able to communicate with me, iba ‘yung mabebelieve talaga (he would have that belief). But he was okay. He was going through it… Na-realize niya (He realized things). After we talked about it, he said sorry,” Bonifacio recalled.

The “Pinoy Big Brother” alum also noted that jealousy normally happens in relationships, and have gotten “stronger” since her eviction. “May factor na [nagselos]. Nagseselos din naman po ako. Normal lang naman ’yun sa tao (There was a jealousy factor. I get jealous too. It’s normal among people). But communication fixes everything.”

“To anyone asking, me and Harvey are totally okay,” she continued. “If anything, we have gotten stronger because the time apart and the time of not having communication made us stronger individually. Now that we’re back together and we chose to be with each other, it made us so much stronger.”

Touching on her friendship with Sager, Bonifacio said she considers him as sort of her “Darren Espanto,” noting that the “The Voice Philippines” alum is her real-life best friend.

“I clarified so many times at the [Bahay ni Kuya] that may jowa ako, may Harvey po ako. ’Yung tingin ko kay Michael, na [he’s] like my Darren, my Canadian buddy. It feels different when you’re connected to home. He did truly make me feel like [I’m back] home. We’re both from Vancouver. We know details about our school life and [such]. Harvey understood that,” she said.

On Bianca De Vera

Meanwhile, Bautista’s past involvement with “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition Collab” housemate Bianca De Vera also became a topic of interest among netizens. This is due to Bonifacio revealed to her fellow housemates that her boyfriend considered De Vera as his “TOTGA (or the one that got away).”

Despite having a shared history with Bautista, Bonifacio clarified that she and De Vera have been on good terms and that they developed a close friendship inside the “PBB” house.

“Me and Biancs are so good,” she said. “We’ve got to spend two weeks together and sleep beside her. She was the one I would say my good morning first and my good night last… our humor is on the same level.”

Bonifacio also shared that she, Bautista, and De Vera are open to hanging out together should the opportunity permit.

“She taught me how to cook, and I would teach her moves every now and then. Our friendship got better, and I’m so, so glad that we’re able to fix things right on the spot,” she said. “I just wanted to fix things right away… wala kaming problem (We don’t have a problem). We just have a common denominator.”

Bonifacio is one of the first evicted housemates from the “Bahay ni Kuya” along with Ashley Ortega. Kira Balinger and Charlie Fleming were also recently removed from the “PBB” House. She is set to make a guest appearance on the action drama “Lolong” with Ortega.
