LE SSERAFIM hopes to show vulnerable side in new mini-album ‘Easy’

LE SSERAFIM — made up of Chaewon, Sakura, Yunjin, Kazuha, and Eunchae — hopes to empower fans by showing their vulnerable side in their third mini-album “Easy.”
“If we showed our confident side before, ‘Easy’ is an album that focuses on the inner self. I think we will be able to show the humane side of LE SSERAFIM,” Kazuha said during their media showcase.
Meanwhile, Sakura admitted there’s “pressure” among themselves when it comes to releasing new music, but she nonetheless said it culminated in a display of their “feelings and thoughts.”
“As K-pop idols, we’re extremely grateful for all the love that we receive from the public. But before releasing an album, we constantly worry that this one might not be loved as much as our previous works,” she said.
“We also have the pressure to show something new each time we make a comeback. We thought that showing these feelings and thoughts honestly through music is cool.”
Yunjin, on the other hand, confessed that bringing the record to life was a burden as it required them to show more of their real selves. Yet she said it was a moment that made them stronger.
“It was a burden because we are a team that shows our true selves, but since we’re honest in the album, we can give you great comfort and emotion. I think we have become stronger,” she said.
The mini-album contains five tracks: “Good Bones,” “Easy,” “Swan Song,” “Smart,” and “We Got So Much.”

‘Most difficult’ choreography
“Easy,” the album’s title track, follows a trap genre while its choreography leans towards old-school hip-hop.
The dance moves proved to be “unfamiliar” for Eunchae. It, however, motivated her to work harder.
“It would be a lie if I said it wasn’t unfamiliar to me because it was a genre that was popular in the generation before we were all born,” said Eunchae.
“It was a new challenge, so I prepared hard with the thought that it would be even cooler if I could do it and that I would grow further.”
The group’s leader Chaewon said “Easy” is not an “unfamiliar” track to the group’s dedicated fans as it also shows the kind of story LE SSERAFIM wants to tell.
“I [honestly] don’t think it was unfamiliar or a new transformation. The essence of [our] album is to show what story we want to tell. This time, ‘Easy’ is the song that suits the story we want to tell,” she said.
