Heart Evangelista says Chiz Escudero is ‘greatest angel’ in vows renewal

An emotional Heart Evangelista said she couldn’t imagine life without her husband, Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, as they reaffirmed their commitment to each other during their renewal of vows in Balesin last February 14, also her birthday.
Evangelista shed tears of joy while confessing that she “now knows what love should be” in her renewed wedding vow to Escudero, as seen in a highlights video on her YouTube channel.
“Getting married again the second time around — we’re even now — it seems like it’s actually my first, and I do truly believe it’s actually my first time because I knew what love was before, but now I know what love should be,” she said.
The fashion personality also expressed her gratitude to Escudero for changing her life for the better, saying he’s the “greatest angel” who “softened all [her] edges.”
“How my life would’ve been if you weren’t around. You are not just a husband, but you are the greatest angel there is. I sold my soul and you bought it back for me. You soften all the edges, you rearrange the stars, and you have brought it down to where I am,” she said.
The video then showed Escudero looking back at his nine-year marriage with Evangelista, with glimpses of their wedding which was also held in Balesin. He then noted their vow renewal as a special day given to them by the Lord.
“We’ve been through a lot of highs, a lot of lows, maraming masaya, minsan may malungkot. There was a time where I wished and prayed to God, hiniling ko na sana ‘yung bukas ko, maging ngayon na lang, ‘yung ngayon ko, maging nakaraan na agad. Sa araw na ‘to, binigay at isinakatuparan ng Diyos ‘yun,” he said.
The senator also promised Evangelista that he would love her even though he “grows much, much, much” older.
“I promise that I will stand by your side, and I promise to love you as I grow much, much, much older. I love you and I always will,” he said.
One of the highlights of their special day was the presence of Evangelista’s mother Cecilia Ongpauco, who tearfully watched her daughter walk down the aisle. Meanwhile, her father Reynaldo Ongpauco was absent while recovering from an undisclosed condition.

The couple first tied the knot in 2015, also in Balesin. However, the fashion personality’s parents weren’t around at the time.
Evangelista and Escudero’s vow renewal was also a special event for the two as it celebrated their commitment to each other after they were hounded by breakup rumors in 2022.
The pair eventually patched up their relationship before the year ended, with the senator sometimes taking time off his schedule to accompany his wife during her fashion events abroad.
