Heart Evangelista and Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero have renewed their wedding vows in an intimate ceremony at the Royal Villa on Balesin Island on Thursday, February 15, or a day after the fashion icon’s 39th birthday.
Evangelista and Escudero commemorated their 9th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony witnessed by their loved ones and close friends, as seen on makeup artist Albert Kurniawan and designer Michael Leyva’s Instagram posts on Thursday, Feb. 15.
The Kapuso star was spectacular in her custom beige wedding gown and veil draped over her head and shoulders like a hood by Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab. Meanwhile, Escudero looked dashing in a cream-colored tuxedo.

The vow renewal ceremony is special for Evangelista as she was accompanied by her mother Cecilia Ongpauco on the aisle. She previously walked the aisle alone in her 2015 wedding to the senator.

On Instagram, Evangelista took her fans into a closer glimpse of her wedding gown in an interview with fashion magazine Harpers Bazaar Singapore, which she adorned with a “meaningful” necklace with diamonds she collected through the years, with some “gifted by her parents and her husband.”
“Elie Saab has a special place in my heart—it was actually one of the first shows I ever attended in fashion week. I’ve always loved their dreamy and romantic creations, and when I saw the custom couture dress, I knew that was it,” she added.

The couple looked blissfully in love in their vow renewal photos by the beach which were captured by celebrity photographer Pat Dy. In another set of photos, Evangelista looked radiant in her chic bridal look.

Evangelista and Escudero tied the knot in 2015, which also took place on Balesin Island.
