Bea Alonzo’s projects weren’t Marian Rivera’s rejects — GMA writer
A GMA screenwriter has denied that Bea Alonzo‘s projects with the networks were first offered to Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, a claim that was discussed recently during the vlog of entertainment talk show host and talent manager Ogie Diaz, and his team.
On Facebook, RJ Nuevas said TV projects given to Alonzo were created with her in mind, and not “crumbs,” contrary to alleged claims of Diaz and fellow hosts Loi Villarama and Brenda Lualhati last Feb. 12, citing unnamed sources, that before a certain project could be offered to Alonzo, it first had been through Rivera’s perusal.
“Hindi po ito totoo! Hiningan po ako ng concept for Bea Alonzo, at ang naisip ko at ipinasa at naaprubahan ng mga boss ay ang ‘Widows’ War,’” he said, while sharing a screengrab of Lualhati and Diaz’s vlog.
(This is not true! I was asked to create a concept for Bea Alonzo, and what I conceptualized and was approved by the bosses was “Widows’ War.”)
The screenwriter said the upcoming show is meant for Alonzo, as well as her past two shows with the Kapuso network referring to “Love Before Sunrise” and “Start-Up PH.”
Article continues after this advertisement“Para po talaga kay Bea ang show at walang inalukan na iba. Ganon din po ang dalawa niyang naunang shows (The show is meant for Bea and no one else. This also applies to her past two shows),” he said.
Alonzo was cast as one of the leads of the crime series “Widows’ War” with Carla Abellana. Gabbi Garcia was previously announced as one of the cast but also declined as well.
Meanwhile, Rivera currently stars as Maria in the Kapuso sitcom “Jose & Maria’s Bonggang Villa” with her husband Dingdong Dantes. She will also be the lead of the upcoming series “My Guardian Alien.”
The issue on project offers for Alonzo and Rivera first came up in Diaz’ vlog in light of the former’s recent calling off of her engagement with Dominic Roque. The vlog hosts claimed Alonzo wanted to have an elaborate wedding like other celebrities.
“Diba sina Bea [Alonzo] at Marian [Rivera] ang pinakasikat sa GMA? May kaibigan ako sa GMA, nasabi lang sa’kin na bago i-offer ang isang teleserye kay Bea, dadaan daw muna kay Marian. Siya muna ang uunahin. Kapag hindi tinanggap ni Marian, pupunta kay Bea,” Lualhati said.
(Aren’t Bea Alonzo and Marian Rivera the biggest stars of GMA? I have a friend in GMA who said before a teleserye is offered to Bea, it has to go through Marian first. She is the priority. If Marian doesn’t accept the offer, it will then go to Bea.)
Diaz, however, appeared to counter Lualhati’s claims saying that it’s “not confirmed” as no one knows the true story.
“Hindi ‘yan confirmed. Naikwento lang sa’yo. Hindi naman natin alam ang totoong kwento,” he said. “Ang sinasabi lang naman ni Brenda na bago tanggapin ni Bea ang isang teleserye, nauna nang ialok kay Marian… Nakakaloka, hindi naman natin alam ang totoong kwento diyan.”
(That’s not confirmed. It was just shared with you. We don’t know the true story. What Brenda was trying to say is that before Bea accepted an offer for a teleserye, it was offered to Marian first. That’s too much, we don’t even know the true story behind such a claim.)
