Mark Bautista revealed he received fewer project offers after he came out as bisexual, but stressed he did not regret what he did.

Sitting down with Karen Davila on Thursday, Feb. 8, the singer-actor answered “yes” when asked if coming out as bisexual affected his career.

“First nung lumabas ang dami palang gantong reactions. Sabi ko, dapat ba hindi ko na tinuloy and all that. Pero ngayon masasabi ko it’s the best decision na nagawa ko. Sobrang iba ang pakiramdam. No regrets,” he said.

Bautista declared that life would go on for him if ever the time comes that no projects would come his way.

“Kung anuman ang mangyari, kung hindi na ako tatanggapin sa show biz o wala nang show, ready ako,” he said,

Bautista came out in his memoir “Beyond the Mark” in 2018 and stressed that, as a bisexual, he still thinks about building a family and the possibility of falling in love with a girl.

“Open pa rin ako to fall in love with a girl kasi gusto ko talagang magka-family. Gusto ko magkaanak and all that. I’m still open to it na kung may babae na tatanggapin ako and all that. Kung mapa-fall ako or ma-in love ako sa isang babae, wala akong problema,” stated the singer.

The “Lastikman” actor admitted that he often thinks about who will be there for him when he grows old and doesn’t have a family of his own.

“Tatanda ako, sinong maiiwan… saan ko ibibigay yung pinaghirapan ko? Sino ang mag-aalaga sa akin, basically? Naisip ko rin na dapat siguro may kasama ako or may anak or something,” said Bautista.

The award-winning singer also opened up about being sexually abused by a relative when he was still a child, noting that it made him question about himself and affected his upbringing.

“Nung time na yon, may point sa buhay ko na kinukuwestiyon ko, ‘Kung hindi nangyari sa akin yon, sino kaya ang Mark ngayon? Baka ibang tao siya.’” he said.

“May naisip pa ako na, ‘I’m sorry Mark na bata, na nangyari sa yo yun. You were so helpless, hindi mo rin naman alam. Sorry kung may nag-grab sa yo na something sa childhood mo.’” added the singer.
