Heart Evangelista turned emotional as she opened up about her readiness to bear a child again, noting how the experiences she had gone through “make sense now.”

The actress-fashion personality, who lost her twins in 2018 due to a miscarriage, spoke about this during a brand event for a mobile payment services company on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

The topic was brought up during Evangelista’s interview with TV host Boy Abunda, who asked the former to complete the sentence: “I would throw a lavish party for…”

“If I had a baby,” Evangelista responded.

“Naiiyak ako (I’m about to cry),” she admitted, which led Abunda to ask why she became emotional over the topic.

Apparently looking back on her miscarriage, she said, “Because I used to question a lot before why I couldn’t [have a baby], and it’s so hard.”

“When you question yourself, a lot of people say things, but when I look back at my life—even the people, the experiences I’ve had, all the hardships of being alone—it makes sense now,” she underscored.

The fashion personality then talked about how prepared she is to be pregnant, saying she “would be able to give more” to her child this time.

“And I feel like if there’s any moment that I should be blessed with a baby, it should be now because I feel like I’m ready as a person and I would be able to give more, because I’ll be able to tell her more and share more wisdom,” she stated.

In a 2023 interview, Evangelista said that while having a baby was not her priority in 2018, she realized “how much [she] wanted it so badly” when she knew she was pregnant.

“It changed me a lot because I didn’t think I would be a good mom. I didn’t think that I wanted to be a mom,” she said. “But that’s something that I was very thankful for because even for a brief moment, I’ve realized that I can be a better person.”

Evangelista has been married to Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero since 2015. The pair, who went through a rough patch in 2022, is set to renew their wedding vows this February.
