FEATURED STORIES

On social media, tributes continue to pour from more celebrity friends of the ABS-CBN executive, among them his former wards Bea Alonzo, Kris Aquino, and Maricel Soriano, and Vice Ganda.

No Kris without Deo

Aquino, on Instagram, admitted that while she “drifted apart” from Endrinal at some point, her love for the ABS-CBN executive will always remain as he taught her the “importance of honoring the job”

“Deo believed in me when many doubted. He showed me the value of professionalism, respect, and generosity in sharing the credit with everyone involved in the production of my shows [and] movies. He instilled in me how to separate my personal problems from my duty to entertain,” she said, noting she was the third choice to host “Game KNB.”

Endrinal was one of the writers of the now-defunct game show, and of “The Buzz,” where Aquino served as the mainstay host of both shows.

“I’m now so sorry for my failure to be the one to reach out because it hurt me when I failed to hear from him personally during my time of grief and the time my health started deteriorating. My wrong choice prevented us from being each other’s support system,” she said.

“I am proud to declare — I’d never have become KRIS without the magical guidance of the creative genius that was Deo Endrinal,” he further said.

‘Basher and friend’

Vice Ganda vowed to make the Dreamscape head “proud” while sharing photos of his earlier days with the latter in ABS-CBN.

“Sir Deo. My manager. My mother. My supporter. My basher. My friend. And now my angel. I will always love you. I will always be grateful to you. I will always miss you. I promise to continue to make you proud,” he wrote.

“I’ll never forget that during a time I had lost confidence in myself and my career, you told me you believed in me and what I could do. Thank you for taking me under your wing for ‘Green Rose,’ ‘Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw,’ and ‘Dyesebel,’” she said, listing down the Dreamscape shows where she starred as the lead.

On the other hand, Andrea Brillantes said Endrinal trusted in her acting abilities and was one of those who made her first “showbiz break” possible.

“Isa siya sa mga rason kung bakit nandito ako ngayon dahil naniwala siya sa’kin. I guess 90% of my roles were Dreamscape kaya ang laki ng naitulong niya sa life at pagpapatupad ng pangarap ko,” she told ABS-CBN News. (He’s one of the reasons why I’m here because he believed in me. I guess 90% of my roles were Dreamscape so he helped me a lot in life and in fulfilling my dreams.)

Bright flame

Cherry Pie Picache, who starred in several Dreamscape series in her career, said the producer’s “flame” will remain “bright and warm” through the lives of the people he touched.

“Mahal na mahal na mahal kita, taos pusong pasasalamat (I love you so much. I’m very grateful for you). Surely you are lighting up the heavens with your flame, as bright and as warm as the love you have filled our lives with,” she wrote. “As we always say, forever. Bravo Sir Deo, my mitah.”

Filling the shoes

A wistful Dimples Romana took to her Instagram account to look back at some of her unforgettable roles, which were made possible by Endrinal, while comparing them to “shoes quadruple the size of [her] feet.”

“To the man who, throughout these years, [has] given me shoes quadruple the size of my feet and still, lovingly and with absolute confidence of a father to his child, thought I’d magically grow my feet size somehow to fit them all, Mahal na mahal kita Sir Deo. Your light lives on in my heart forever,” she wrote.
